For the final time this year I took the opportunity to get the Lister out and give it one last run in 2017, just in time for Christmas. You can watch the video on YouTube
I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very happy new year!
I will be back with some new posts in 2018 as I have a few more jobs to do on the Lister. Who knows, I may even be looking for another engine!
Hello ing there – having owned a Lister D myself some years ago, I knew as soon as I saw your video that you were doing something wrong when getting her started. Also you had said in the video that you hoped to get her running; my D was in original, unrestored condition when I got her and once decoked and the mag sorted, she would run any and every time. But back to starting. Having turned on the petrol, turned the fuel regulator to the “start” position, then whilst cranking her put your finger on the air valve (top of the carb) to give the necessary rich mixture and away she should go.
Hope this helps though suspect that because of the date of the video someone will have already said all this.
Nick.
